Située à 8 km nord-ouest de Poitiers, la falaise de Beauvoir est orientée au sud et très fréquentée par les grimpeurs de Poitiers et des environs. Le rocher est un excellent calcaire jurassique à silex, dont plusieurs gros blocs incertains ont été purgés en 1994 : 100 voies, 15-20 m, 3b-8a, avec de belles voies intéressantes de niveau moyen .
Located 8 km north-west of Poitiers, Beauvoir's crag is a south face, with important frequentation from the climbers of Poitiers and surroundings. Rock is an excellent jurassic flint limestone ; several important unsafe boulder have been purged in 1994 : 100 routes, 15-20 m, 3b-8a, with several beautiful routes for medium climbers .
De Poitiers prendre N149 (direction Nantes) ; 3,5 km après passage sous l'autoroute prendre D87 (Vouneuil-sous-Biard) sur 0,2 km, tourner à droite (W) vers Beauvoir, continuer tout droit jusqu'à un carrefour avec une croix, parking obligatoire. Prendre la première route à droite après la croix, on arrive à un hameau d'où l'on voit les rochers, un sentier (portillon) conduit au pied de la falaise.
From Poitiers take road N149 (direction Nantes) ; 3,5 km after passin below the tollway take road D87 (Vouneuil-sous-Biard) for 0,2 km ; turn right (W) in the direction of Beauvoir, continue straightforward until a cross-roads with a calvary where you must park. Walk the first road on the right after the calvary, leading to a small village from where the crags can be seen ; a footpath leads to the bottom of the crags.
