Située 600 m au sud de la gare SNCF de Vallorcine et 1200 m nord-est de la gare de Vallorcine-le-Buet, cette falaise est l'endroit où l'on vient s'occuper quand le temps est trop nuageux pour aller grimper dans les Aiguilles Rouges ou les Aiguilles de Chamonix. Elle a été créée de toutes pièces par la commune qui a enlevé la terre et la végétation sur 100 mètres de haut et autant de large.
La paroi offre 20 voies, 80-100 m, 3b-7a, la plupart entre 4c et 5c. L'escalade est souvent technique, rarement violente (dalles et dièdres). Beaucoup de monde en plein été.
Altitude 1300 m, face ouest. Climat pluvieux :pluie/neige : 1600 mm de précipitations en 135 jours par an, meilleurs mois juillet et octobre.
Located 600 m south of the ralway station of Vallorcine and 1200 m north-east of the railway station Vallorcine-le-Buet, this crag is the place where climbers keep busy when the weather is too cloudy for climbing in the Aiguilles Rouges or the Aiguilles de Chamonix. It was created ex nihilo by the commune who removed durt and vegetation over 100 meters in height and as much in width.
The crag offers 20 routes, 80-100 m, 3b-7a, most of them between 4c and 5c. Climbing is technical, seldom violent (slabs and corners). Much people in summer.

Impossible de ne pas voir la falaise qui constitue une tache grise au milieu de la forêt. Un chemin part derrière la gare SNCF de Vallorcine. Un autre part de la station « Le Buet » en longeant la voie ferrée jusqu'au camping municipal, en traversant sous la voie. La fin est évidente.
Impossible to miss this wall which makes a grey area within the forest. A path starts from behind the railway station Vallorcine. Another way starts from the raiway station Le Buet along the railway until the camping municipal, traversing under the track. The remainder is obvious.
